Legal advice for intermediaries
Only intermediairs that are register at the Dutch Football Association (KNVB) can close deals on behalf of players or clubs. De Nieuwe Voetbalmakelaar can act on behalf of foreign clubs or players in The Netherlands. He can also assist player agents from abroad with their deals in Holland. Because Christian Visser as a lawyer as well as an intermediary he is very much aware of the regulations concerning transfers in The Netherlands. Hence he advises intermediaries from outside of Holland that want to do business over here.
Legal advice for players
On a regular basis mr. Visser is asked to review contracts between players and clubs and contracts between players and intermediaries. As an intermediairy is paid a percentage of the players income and comes from the same source, namely the proffesional football club. The money a club spends on football agent it cannot spend on a player. Therefore you could say that sometimes there’s a conflict between the player agent and the player. That is why it’s so important to ask for advice before sigining a contract with an agent.
